How to Find a Backup Doula

If you are unavailable during your on-call time, it is your responsibility as the primary doula to:

1. Find a Backup Doula: Locate someone who agrees to take your place.
2. Inform Your Client: Ensure your client has the backup doula’s contact information and any emergency numbers.

Finding a Backup Doula: #

• Check the InstaDoula list
• Post in the Facebook group
• Contact Heidi Donahue or Yesenia Sequera for assistance

Making an Agreement:

• When you find someone, reach out to them directly to confirm availability.
• Discuss and agree on the dates, times, and payment arrangement for their services
• Notify the backup doula when they are no longer needed (e.g., if your client gives birth or discontinues services).
