Where can I find an OHA-Approved doula training?

  • On the CDP Doula Private Page, under Trainings and Resources, there are several training videos available. Once you watch the videos, let Delia know which ones you completed and she will generate a certificate of completion for each one.
  • The National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM) has a wide variety of webinars available at this website. Each training is available at a small fee, and there are many trainings under the “Equity, Race, and Access to Midwifery Webinar Series” that are relevant to doula work.
  • CDP doulas can join Milk Magic by completing this form and selecting “CDP Partnership” in response to “How did you hear about this?” You will find 4 recordings (each is 2 hours long) titled Foundations Lesson 1 Live Recording November 2022 (the others are titled Lesson 2 – 4 respectively). After each recording, you will fill out a reflection. Once you’ve watched all four videos and reflections, email Jessalyn at jessalyn@nurturely.org to let her know you’ve completed the training. She will send you a certificate granting you 8 CEUs, which you then need to send to Delia. You can watch the other recordings available, but CEUs are not given for those.
  • You can also find training on the state website here.

Where can I find specific trainings?

  • Where can I find suicide prevention training? (recertification requirement)
    • This OHA website provides several options for Suicide Prevention training.
  • Where can I find cultural competency training?
    •  Cultural Competency trainings are listed on the OEI website or you can take in-person courses through an accredited higher education institution, local hospital or medical clinic. An online course for Cultural Competency is Think Cultural Health. Recommended is the e-learning course for Nurses and Social Workers, which is a free course worth 6 CEUs.
  • Where can I find inter-professional collaboration training?
    • CDP Private Page Option – IPC
  • Where can I find Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance training?
  • Where can I find trauma-informed care training?
    • CDP Private Page – TIC p1
    • CDP Private Page – TIC p2
  • Where can I find oral health training?
    • The state has training available at this link. At the end, there is an option to fill out a certificate with your name – make sure you do this and send it to Delia.
  • Where can I get certified in CPR for adults and infants/children?
    • The Red Cross has both online and in-person training available, though you will have to pay for it. The online training is available at this link, and you can search for in-person training through this link; these should both be valid for 2 years.
